There are championship golf courses, country race meetings, fine bowling greens and excellent lawn and hard-court tennis courts, but for the golf enthusiast, we have some of the best you can find!

Bairnsdale Golf Club

The course can be seen on the road into Paynesville and looks out over the Gippsland Lakes, providing many wonderful views. A fine test of golf with excellent fairways, very good greens and bunkers. All the usual facilities including motorised buggies. Only 2 minutes from the village of Paynesville.

Lakes Entrance Golf Club

A true links course and an excellent test of golf, set beside the ocean and rated in the top 20 courses in Victoria of those open to non-members. Bistro meals served. A scenic 35-minute drive from Paynesville.

Lakes View

Approximately 3 km from Lakes Entrance, this 9-hole course offers everything from hire clubs to a kiosk with BBQ facilities for a great end to your day. Great ocean views and sea air, suitable for beginners through to experienced golfers.

Tambo Valley Golf Club

A delightful and picturesque 9-hole course cut out of the pine forest at Swifts Creek. About 1 ½ hours from Paynesville, with a pretty drive along the river valley - visits to the wineries of Ensay and Cassilis make a great day out.

South Pines Golf Club

A country course amongst the sheep paddocks of Lindenow, about 25 minutes from Paynesville. May have the longest par 5 in Australia.

Goose Gully

A 9-hole course just out of Bairnsdale offering affordable golf for the holiday maker. Hire clubs and buggies at very reasonable rates, with a kiosk open for refreshments. (Follow the Great Alpine Road and turn at the Colosseum Bistro into Balfours Road.)

Buchan Valley

Surrounded by the racecourse and bush, this course is truly easy walking. Situated within the Canni Creek Reserve, the 9-hole course has alternating tees which create 18 holes in all. Clubhouse open Thursday for Ladies and Sunday & Wednesday for Men. November-December offers a fantastic display of wildflowers in the Reserve.

Orbost Golf Club

A huge open fireplace in the Clubhouse offers a great spot to relax after the game. The clubhouse also provides bar and meals when tournaments are running. The 18-hole course is relatively flat with great views out over the valley to the Snowy River.

Omeo Golf Club

A great day out for golfers and families alike. Set in natural bush with Livingstone Creek running alongside - a local fishing spot, especially for trout. Many golfers bring a rod in their buggy to try for a fish as well as a hole-in-one. On request the bar and kitchen will open for special needs. Clubs and buggies for hire.
